Island Girl-BVI Part 2

So you all probably know from my most recent blog post that I traveled to the British Virgin Islands. I had the time of my life on this trip and each day made it better and better! Todays post is going to be about my second full day on the trip.

That morning we sailed from Cooper Island to Virgin Gorda, the home of the beautiful Baths. Most of you have probably seen pictures of the Baths on Pinterest, but it is basically a part of the island that is covered in huge rocks. The rocks stack on top of each other and have little openings between them for the water to flow through. Swimming through the Baths was unbelievable. The current pushes you through the rocks and takes you into little areas where the light just barely shines through the rocks and sparkles off of the water beneath them.

After a nice swim through the Baths we hiked to the top of the mountain where we stopped at a restaurant for some drinks. The view from that restaurant was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen in my entire life. Unfortunately, I did not have my phone or camera on me because we had to swim up to the island, so I do not have any pictures.

After our hike we made our way back to the boat and sailed to a more quiet part of the island for the night. Before the sun went down we went snorkeling to see another ship wreck nearby. Only this shipwreck was brand new; only a few months old. Yet that is not even the best part… the ship was sunk on purpose! The creators of this “ship wreck” staged it to look as if a giant Octopus swallowed the ship, and sunk down with it. Although I still don’t understand how someone found the time to plan a fake ship wreck, I still think it was pretty cool… the tourists eat that stuff up lol!

That night, we sat and watched the sunset, and after dark watched all of the Tarpon (at least 50 of them) swim under the boat. I think it is safe to say that it was a pretty amazing day!
